Abstract
The paper shows situation of women in this at rural areas at the home and European labor market in terms of the economic activity, unemployment, income gap. The determinates of lower woman economic activity and employability were described. At the beginning definitions were quoted for the purpose of better understanding equal chances polices and gender topics. The directions of changes in situation of woman and man were characterized at the labor market and social life as well discrimination effects. Results presented from research show weaker position of woman. Woman living in towns as well at rural areas are better formally educated even so their employability as well unemployment rate is higher and obtaining lower salaries for this some work man do. There are a big differences on this matter between urban and rural areas. Also in the European Union there are large differences, for example, between the Nordic and the Mediterranean countries and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
