Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the distribution channels of porkers from farms specializing in live pig production and the settlement systems between producers and meat processing companies. The analysis used information from the literature and own researchers, which were carried out in 100 pig farms with large-scale production. The analysis shows that the distribution system of pigs in Poland is greatly simplified. Producers porkers middlemen often sell pigs for slaughter directly to the meat industry. Due to fluctuating economic situation, most transactions in the domestic market is based on the supply without contracts. In addition, the processes of concentration of pig production and consumer demand for quality pig enforce the use of settlement which takes into account the classification of carcasses.
