The analysis of implementation of direct payments was done in the study. The Rural Areas Development Plan and selected actions within Sectoral Operational Programme „Restructurizing and modernizing of agri-food sector and rural areas development” in years 2004-2006 was presented. The study aimed at evaluation of using this programmes by farmers and rural areas citizens in selected districts of Lower Silesia. In the years 2004-2006 to this Province was directed of amount 1,9 billions PLN of financial support within mentioned above programmes and direct payments. The biggest share in was noted for action connected to less favoured areas, structural pensions and also investments in agricultural farms and support for young farmers. Using of these quotas were spatially different and dependent on local and agricultural conditions. The biggest beneficiaries were farmers from Kłodzko and Wrocław districts. In this study was pointed out the realization of sustainable development of selected instruments on rural areas.
