Rural areas sustainable development in the context of EU Common Agricultural Policy evolution

Abstract
In the evolution process of EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) one can observe transformation from the sectoral support of agriculture to the rural policy. Measures of CAP have been changing and currently they are focused on the multifuncionality and sustainable development. Presented paper describes system changes of CAP in the period if its activity in the context of natural environment protection and social integrity. Author discusses concept of sustainable development and its conditions of usage in food economy. Then there is a presentation of research results on social capital of polish rural areas. In the conclusion there is a list of relation between socioeconomic systems development and rural areas European Community policy.
